I was finding for a small light weight mower that didn't wear you out pulling the starter cord just to get it going,or one that didn't need a long cord to hassle with. This mower fits the bill. It was easy and quick to assemble. I took it for a run around the yard. It categorically cuts great. The only down side was that some of the long grass tended to wrap around the axle, I had to stop and unwind that. So far I haven't had to adjust the cutting height, that looks like it might be a challenge when the time comes. Over all, I rate this as one of the better purchases I've made.

If your yard isn't big enough to interpret an electric mower, and you want to have the lowest potential carbon footprint possible, an old school reel mower is the reply you're finding for. Just be ready for a good workout as you'll have to cover the same ground at least 3-5 times in each direction, cross-hatch, for whatever resembling a clean cut, though you'll definitely need an edger/trimmer to perfect the job. Also, if you have a lot of weeds, buy a good weed cutter because they laugh in the face of this singular reel mower. I bought the 16" reasoning it would be good enough for my smallish yard, and while it mostly gets the job done, I wish I'd gone for the Scotts 20-Inch first-rate Push Reel Lawn Mower #2000-20 instead.

This 3-1/2-horsepower, 20-inch side-discharge gas mower is a well-made beauty. Tomato-hued and skillfully tooled, this machine was built to do the job and do it for a long time. For a relatively low price, you get a powerful mower with a variety of features. Three settings in the mower deck allow you to adjust the wheels to different heights, though adjustments require that you remove all the wheels and reattach them in the new setting, so it's not an easy flick of a lever--you likely won't be switching settings frequently. Easier is the decision to discharge, bag, or mulch. A flip of the side flap converts the mower from mulch to side discharge, or you can hook up a bag (the 1.6-bushel grass catcher is not included). Tree guards prevent you from injuring tree trunks and shrubbery, the engine is low-emission, and the machine rolls smoothly and maneuvers well. A caveat: assembly of this mower is not for the faint of heart. A well-stocked toolbox is required; without a good supply of wrenches, your lawn will be a jungle before you get the lower handle attached to the upper handle (not to mention attaching the wheels, the blade control handle, and the brake cable).
